Isn't it nice, though...

Anyway, what have I done today? Not a lot, by any standards. I went in expecting to be late, and I was late, but so was Emma - [livejournal.com profile] sprog. She and I hid in the classroom until a little bit later... I kept on expecting the mysterious phone girl to appear with my phone, but she hasn't yet. I find this strange. Anyway.
I am ill. Very ill. I went in, but kept on weaving about and feeling dizzy, but I wasn't planning to go home. It wasn't until lunchtime that I started thinking about it. That's when Mrs Jones came in, and so began an extremely funny conversation. She calmly informed me she would have liked to hang, draw and quarter me yesterday, but she was glad to see I was (or wasn't!) feeling better today. She also told me I hadn't been permanently replaced, and wanted to know why I thought I had been. I told her about Enid. Or tried to. She wanted to know what I was talking about, so with Loz's help, I explained the concept of LiveJournal comments. And then she asked, "Who said this?"
"Enid," said I, not thinking.
"Enid?"
"Catherine Silver."
"You call her Enid?" she said, sounding astonished.
"Yes," said everyone in the room like a spontaneous Greek chorus. It really was extremely amusing, especially as we followed her out the door to spy on the teachers' dance. They kicked us out. Pity.
I went home about two thirty, and was summoned to talk to my mother in the office. I couldn't stand all the nosy secretaries, so I tried talking in Hindi, and it pissed them off, so that wasn't bad. Mrs Mills was in there - she wanted to know about my compere job. She was suitably heavy handed about it, but nevermind.
When I got home I finally managed to catch what happened to the 4077th and the Asian flu! Ah, slashiness... taped it, so will probably watch it again later....
Pedar is not being nice. He seems suspicious - I don't like it. He's gone to London again today, and when he's back on Wednesday, he wants to call Mrs Williams! Ick...
And that's it. I have eaten two slices of carrot-orange cake. Forgot how much I liked it. And started reading Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice - have stolen it from [livejournal.com profile] sprog who stole it from [livejournal.com profile] emerald_embers. I will give it back.. promise...

well i don't actually know for sure. the reason i was given was that i look like an enid. it is no way related to my name or anything. although the people that named me had an unhealthy obsession with the famous five.
it could be to do with that.
originally people called me it to piss me off and i'd go red and scream thats not my name. but in the end, which didn't take very long, i really didn't care at all. infact it's dead wierd when someone actually calls me catherine. i always introduce myself as enid and then when people say thats an odd name i explain it's not my name.
