I've told this story to so many people but I just. I cannot. I. Well. The new job is going pretty well, I'm really getting into it, I have a crush on my boss and I like everyone I've met so far.

Yesterday one of my new colleagues came into the office a little down-hearted after being out for a meeting. The meeting hadn't gone well, she explained. "I forgot to invite anyone."

Oh dear.

I once set up a series of weekly 1:1 meetings with one of my reports, titled "[name] 1:1", added the room, completely forgot to actually invite the person named (possibly because their name was already in the Outlook event and my brain was not firing on all cylinders). The person concerned noticed their name on the laser display board outside the meeting room earlier in the day and gently queried "am I supposed to be in that meeting?", bless them forever.

I've actually done this before thanks to my main device at my new job being pre-installed with New Outlook. /o\ It's weirdly hard to use and counter-intuitive compared to Old Outlook.

With us I think it's Google and Outlook not playing together, which is of course very understandable and has nevertheless kept a lot of people amused. :)
