Doctor Who! Oh, how lovely, how truly lovely. It made ABSOLUTELY NO PLOT SENSE. I mean. Why did Amy's parents disappear in the first place? How did Earth exist at "the eye of the storm" long enough for Amelia to be born and turn seven but then start collapsing hours later? WE SHALL NEVER KNOW. Nevetheless, a lovely episode, I though - no plot or scientific sense, but it made thematic sense, yes, I feel like that's what supposed to happen. (Who watches Who for the sense in it? Seriously.) Things I like in particular:

-Amelia, who is so smart, so resourceful and so independent. I kind of expected the Pandorica to be in the Musée d'Orsay! Ah, well.

-Hijinks involving Rory, the Doctor, the mop, the screwdriver and the fez. That actually did make perfect sense, and I really like, generally, the way Moffatt makes use of time-travel properly as part of his plots.

-Rory. The "lone centurion". I kind of want (to write?) fic about his 2000 years on Earth being determined and plastic. Also, I'd like some fic about how he's dealing with being plastic. I bet he's great in bed.

-Amy's lovely, isn't she? She's so beautiful. Amy is so beautiful and I LOVE HER. I love how capable she is in this, from the moment she wakes up. Also she's beautiful. (And I love her.)

-The Doctor's lovely, too, isn't he? So much softer, sweeter and kinder than the last one - hey, I loved Tennant, I loved Ten, but in an entirely different way - and I love his kissing Amy on the forehead. And being so very attracted to River. That little exchange: "Are you asking?" - oh, I love their dynamic, the way I can actually picture them being in a, not functional, but functional-for-them, relationship.

-River makes the Dalek shout for mercy. Did I mention, I want to be her when I grow up.

-Surprisingly: Amy's mum! She only gets thirty seconds onscreen, and gets characterisation! "Throw it out if it's an atrocity."

-"And you're my tiny little dad!"

-AMY AND RORY GET MARRIED. (And Rory is "Mr Pond"! yes!) I am a sucker for a wedding, and isn't it lovely? They do get married - and then the show turns around and says, hey, did you think a woman's life is over the second she gets married? Er... no.

In short: love. I liked that a lot, I liked the whole season a lot, I think it's the best of the new Who seasons, bless you, Moffatt, and Amy is beautiful and Scottish.

When they all flew off together at the end I was bouncing up and down on the sofa cheering. It was exactly what I wanted to happen, Amy and Rory both companions and on to the next season. I had caught a glimpse of something that seemed to be saying 'We bid farewell to Amy Pond' to I didn't expect them to keep travelling.

The plot was completely crazy (and I loved that it was set in a museum) so I think I need to rewatch it to try to work out what was going on.

Amy is beautiful, and little Amelia is so resourceful and serious and wonderful. Rory is lovely too. I am left with a warm glowy feeing, as well as a fuzz of befuddlement.

Oh, oh, me too, it was just what I wanted. I really love that Amy will spend the Christmas special running around in her wedding dress, too!

Little Amelia is just gorgeous. Actualy, all the women in this series have been wonderful.

THIS. I love that we've finally got a marriage in the show where it's show as a part of the woman's story and not the end.

*nodnodnod* Oh, I know! When they were getting married I was thinking "no, she can't stop travelling with the Doctor" and "no, she can't leave lovely Rory", and then.... the obvious solution. Well done that show.

I'd wondered whether Moffat would do that, and hoped that he would. Mrs and Mr Pond, in the TARDIS.

Why did Amy's parents disappear in the first place?

Fell through the crack in the wall - bet you they went & poked at it with the intent to repair it, & fell through like the soldiers in the weeping angel episode.

How did Earth exist at "the eye of the storm" long enough for Amelia to be born and turn seven but then start collapsing hours later?

Sort of implied around the edges that the TARDIS was holding things together a little, & since it was exploding over Earth & acting as a sun Earth was the closest. That was how I read it anyway *shrugs* I'll have to catch a repeat to check again.

-Rory. The "lone centurion". I kind of want (to write?) fic about his 2000 years on Earth being determined and plastic. Also, I'd like some fic about how he's dealing with being plastic.

Please do! The first thing I said after the titles rolled (& it had my sister in hysterics) was 'someone give me those 2,000 years!' closely followed by 'doesn't this mean Rory's older than the Doctor now? Shouldn't that mean no more poor, stupid Rory jokes, & new characterisation in the next series?' And I think he may be human again, since technically anything since the crack appeared in her wall didn't happen (it was just remembered).

-Amy's lovely, isn't she? She's so beautiful. Amy is so beautiful and I LOVE HER. I love how capable she is in this, from the moment she wakes up. Also she's beautiful. (And I love her.)

This. Here.

-Surprisingly: Amy's mum! She only gets thirty seconds onscreen, and gets characterisation! "Throw it out if it's an atrocity."

Very true. You got so much from that line, & the way she took Amy's not knowing her for a few seconds.

They do get married - and then the show turns around and says, hey, did you think a woman's life is over the second she gets married? Er... no.

And about time too! It's time Auntie Beeb caught up with the real world, although she's been showing signs of it ever since 'I'm The Doctor. And I just snogged Madame de Pompadour!'

I loved the something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.

And i love River with all my heart. Can I be her when I grow up too?

I loved it so much (Centurian!Rory waiting for 2000 years! Amy's lovely family! The Doctor dancing at the wedding! River and Amy jointly destroying the fez!). I don't even care that it probably made no sense because I adored it all. And now we get Amy, Rory and the Doctor travelling together (hopefully), which is what I've been wanting for a while.

(Also, Amy is ridiculously beautiful. I find it hard to stop staring at her sometimes.)

OMG OMG! I was going to text you this, but: I LOVE MR POND! I love him so much. Ohgod, Rory. Ohgod. Also River, yes, I want to be her too; we need to go to a con where Alex Kingston is appearing and attempt not to mob her or babble inanely or throw ourselves over the table at her, y/y?

That is far and away the best series finale of New Who. Every other series (save possibly New Who 1) has had a good second to last episode, and then wrapped up unsatisfactorily, I've felt. But that was GOOD LIKE ... SEX. I DON'T KNOW, I'M STRUGGLING TO THINK OF THINGS AS GOOD AS THAT. GOOD LIKE PIE.

I am so very, very overexcited! And thinking of suggesting we rewatch Pandorica Opens/Big Bang when I visit, maybe, because I would love to squee over it with someone in person?

I want River to be the companion at some point. I love that she tells the Doctor when he's saying something that's wrong. Sadly, I don't think this will come to pass.

"...and you are LATE for my wedding!" Oh, I heart Amy so hard and I loved this finale so much. XD

Oh, how lovely, how truly lovely. It made ABSOLUTELY NO PLOT SENSE.

I know! It was completely ridiculous... and yet that doesn't bother me one bit. :)

Rory. The "lone centurion". I kind of want (to write?) fic about his 2000 years on Earth being determined and plastic.

Is it wrong that my first thought at that point was the possibilities for "lone centurion" fic? :)

The Doctor's lovely, too, isn't he?

He had so many great scenes in the episode (and in this series really), and his monologue at young Amelia's bedside is probably one of my all-time favourite Doctor Who moments.

AMY AND RORY GET MARRIED. (And Rory is "Mr Pond"! yes!) I am a sucker for a wedding, and isn't it lovely? They do get married - and then the show turns around and says, hey, did you think a woman's life is over the second she gets married? Er... no.

I really hope the Ponds are actual "full" companions next series (both of them).
