raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (girl!Doctor - rose)

These two are very very short, and not even proper word-counted drabbles, but still. They have Jack meeting girl!Doctor and something that happens after that.

Before he did anything else, Jack swore. He paced up and down for several minutes without repeating himself, occasionally using a word Rose had never heard before, and just when she thought he was running out of steam he would look up, catch another glance of the Doctor and it would begin again.

“Does it bother you?” Rose asked hesitantly, after a while.

“Does it bother me?” Jack looked straight at her, eyes shining. “Hell, no.”

And after that, it really didn’t seem to. He went up to the Doctor and bowed his head in mock-subservience. “Doctor,” he breathed reverently.

“Jack,” said the Doctor with some amusement, raising her eyebrows. “It’s good to have you back. There is a jar of olives below the sink and a bottle of vermouth in the fridge. And you can make me one while you’re at it.”

Jack tripped over the cat on his way out, but that didn’t make him stop smiling.

And then, their next adventure:

“Deepest darkest dungeon, naturally,” said the Doctor. “I don’t know why we’re always being mistaken for spies. One would think we had invisible beacons only audible to dogs and the chronically paranoid.”

“Doctor, where’s your sonic screwdriver?” asked Jack patiently.

“In my other pants.” Off his look, she relented. “Oh, all right.” With a slight popping sound, she produced it from her shoe. “We’re escaping again already? Dear me, standards must be slipping.”

Rose was lookout, ear to the door for passing guards. “Hurry up, you two,” she hissed at the Doctor and Jack, who were bickering over who weighed less. The Doctor won, and Jack gave a heartfelt sigh and lifted her from around the waist. She reached up, aimed the screwdriver at a handy ventilation grille and let it buzz. There was a resonant thunk as the metal grating dislodged.

She pushed it out of the way. “All clear!”

“Same here,” reported Rose with a last scan of the corridor.

“Right then.” The Doctor paused. “Jack, don’t think I don’t know you’re looking up my skirt.”

“My dear Doctor, allow me my small pleasures.” Jack grinned and gave her a final hoist upwards.

“Small minds,” said the Doctor acerbically, and that was how they escaped that time.
