Wish list

GIP. It amused me. Actually, no, it's a cap from a harrowing, horrifying scene and is not amusing in the slightest. But it still appealed. Something about librarians, I do not know what.

The wishlist meme:

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.

There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

My wishlist:

1. Red shoes. I saw them in Next in Liverpool the other day. They're made of this red suede-type stuff and have these gorgeous little kitten heels, and I'm in lust. Size six and a half (don't laugh).

2. Angel season two DVDs. Owning or lending, doesn't matter, but I've got season one now and Miranda will lend me season three - slight gap there, methinks.

3. Fairy lights. I kid thee not. Not Christmas ones, exactly - I'd like the simple sort you can put up around your window and leave up all year round. They have very pretty ones in the first shop in Quiggins. Although I don't get the chilli pepper ones, exactly.

4. Red earrings. Nearly all the clothes I own are red or designed to go with red, but I don't have any earrings that go with.

5. On the subject of earrings, I have this lovely pair of soft sterling silver hoops. Well, I did. I lost one the other week and actually cried about it. They're my absolute favourites and I've had them for years and still feel like such an idiot for losing one. A replacement of some sort would be lovely.

6. Fic about Giles's time at the Espresso Pump, as seen in Where The Wild Things Are. Did the Scoobies go back and watch him play? Did Buffy? Did he meet anyone? Did Ethan pop up and cause trouble? I want fic.

7. Fic about Tara. Maybe Willow-and-Tara, but really, I want fic that gets in her head. She's so lovely and why do people not write about her? And I'd also like justification for more Tara icons. I'm using one, but I have about twelve saved. It's quite sad really.

8. Placebo's singles collection, Once More With Feeling. I could get a copy of it, but I don't want to. It's Placebo, after all, and they're special.

9. Ooh, PoA DVD. I'd love it, but I know my parents will never think of it. They're not good with gifts unless I tell them what, where, when, why, how much, exact address and shipping details and who to call if something goes wrong.

10. A kiss from a girl.

If you want my snail mail address, ask me. If you don't want to ask me, ask any of the members of [livejournal.com profile] colleen_show.

And I'd like to ask you all a favour. I know tonnes of people on my friends list have done this meme. If you have a wishlist, could you please comment with a link? I'd love to have another look at what people are asking for, and I've been so tired lately I haven't been reading.

I would grand you number 10. I would write a fic in which I grant number 10 and it would be kind of one of those Mary Sue insertion ones and you could call it The Colleen Show fanfiction. But that would be kind of creepy. I don't really want you going, "Eeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww..." so I'll just say this all theoretically. :P

Oh! I just found the # key on this strange French keyboard!####! #10 I would grant.
