Happy Diwali, everyone. I kind of wish we could do something for it properly, and I wanted fireworks but there aren't any. I like Diwali, though. I like the tealights and the flowers. It's silly, but there is no other festival as pretty as Diwali; we tend to put a diya in every room, two in each bathroom and one on either side of the front door. I am still at a loss to explain the tradition of the bathroom; why exactly it needs extra attention is something entirely beyond me.

I am now feeling less like a walking puddle of angst. But I sense cultural displacement coming on, with all the fun that entails, so yay for that. On that note, I think I may be in India at Christmas, like I was two years ago.

Maybe religious festivals aren't such a good idea.

I thought Divali was tomorrow. Or maybe we celebrate on different dates.

Meep ;-)

Depending on the type of Indian community you're from, the main celebration is on different days. The actual length of the Diwali festival is 5 days.

Happy Diwali!
