Maybe it's just because of the years spent watching said programme, but I'm disturbed. It's Giles! You can't just turn up with your slash and your vague knowledge of Buffy verse and try to tear him away from the spectacles! Besides, he would never go over to the dark side. He belongs to Jenny Calendar. *dreams of Giles*
I like Giles. I have always liked Giles. And I fail to see the connection to slash, spectacles or anything else in the above comment! Just a rather distinct similarity between a British librarian and a British bookshop owner.
... I can't. It would spoil what is an absolutely delicious arc and I don't think I can justify doing that to anyone.
Just stick with this show until season 2, when it suddenly drastically improves and all the characters get given Real Depth. Ripper!Giles is one of these things.
And as season 1 is all of twelve episodes long, you don't actually have long to wait, either.
Now just picture Spike as Crowley, carry over the GO slash, and you're in the place I'm in.
Actually, no, he's not Aziraphale-- not an angel, got a dark side, all that-- and such a mistake should not be allowed to stand. But I'm glad you're watching Buffy, anyway.
Giles does indeed have a dark side. Wait until you see "The Dark Age", or even more vividly, "The Gift". It doesn't come out in the early episodes, but as the seasons progress it's pretty clear. And a lovely sight to behold.

on 2004-06-16 12:52 pm (UTC)Giles is not Aziraphale. Although, by that logic, possibly Ripper!Giles is Crowley? Alternatively, Ethan Rayne could be his Crowley...
No! Stop it! Bad Hathor! Giles is Giles and that is all!
