Antimatter relays
Jan. 11th, 2004 09:56 pmSo, what did I do today?
Apart from the obvious answer - nothing - there is little for me to say on that front. I got out of bed in the morning (sorry, the afternoon), ate a muffin, and spent a lot of time on the computer. Sent off some more of Crossover Epic to
amchau. Wrote a bit of fic, as well. Remembered to take a shower. This is all scintillating, isn't it?
And then I watched Enterprise, and yes, that was interesting. I did watch it in its first series - I saw maybe half of those episodes - but hadn't watched it since. And I did like it. I really did. I even liked the theme tune. It has its low points, but what doesn't? So, yes. The episodes I watched today were the first and second of season 3, featuring a new alien race, the Xindi, and the Delphic Expanse. It was fun. However, things appear to have changed since I last watched it. For some reason, it's now being advertised as "Star Trek: Enterprise" as opposed to just "Enterprise" and they also appear to have attempted to jazz up the theme tune, which I did not like. Oddly, the two episodes were shown today in the wrong order. I didn't understand that, although they were good episodes. And I also remember that the NX-01 had a top speed of warp 4.4, whereas it now seems to have a top speed of warp 5. Maybe it's me who's losing it. Anyway.
I then decided that I might think about buying the DVDs as a present to myself. At which point I discovered that Enterprise is not available on DVD. Now that bothers me. Even TNG is available on DVD, but Enterprise, of all things, isn't? I don't think I'm the only person who likes it, although some people don't seem enamoured of certain aspects of it. Patrick said yesterday that he thought Archer was a prat. This reminded me of
hathy_col, as I'm sure she's said the same thing at some point.
I shall stop talking about Enterprise, people will think I'm strange. I have also been reading today. The Well of Lost Plots amuses me no end and I'm not looking forward to finishing it, so I'm reading it very slowly. And in an attempt to not have to finish it, and also because I was generally bored, I rang
purplerainbow and we talked for about an hour and a half about absolutely nothing at all. It was fun, and as I discovered that Hannah will be more or less AWOL during this week, it's a good thing I did call her. It was fun.
And that's it for my doing-nothing weekend. I'm really sad that it's over - it has been such fun, and was particularly peaceful because my mother's away on a course and doesn't get back tomorrow. I have to go to school tomorrow and actually work, and I don't think I can face it. In any case, I am not going to bed early tonight. I'll watch Red Dwarf, as it's on again, and think about watching Velvet Goldmine, which is also on tonight.
That's everything. Life is fairly good at present, touchwood.
