raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (sleep...)
[personal profile] raven
I appear to have made a friend. *waves at [livejournal.com profile] speccygeekgrrl*

I don't really feel like doing anything at present. And that includes writing... but, yeah.
Met [livejournal.com profile] lilka this morning, and she offloaded four more Tamora Pierce books - the Daine series which [livejournal.com profile] purplerainbow recommended, so I am a happy Raven where reading matter is concerned. I will have to dig out the M*A*S*H tapes for her... there are now two. One older one, that I taped six eps on ([livejournal.com profile] snowdrop24 swore there were eight) and another one, the one with Hawk's Nightmare on it somewhere. [livejournal.com profile] gamesiplay believes there is something subliminal in that episode... having watched it once, you feel the compulsive need to watch it thirty more times. It happened to her, and it happened to me, so I can test the theory by giving it to Jane.

And I also need to get Avril Lavigne's Let Go for Danni. She lent me Camino Palmero, which I should get around to listening to later. I like her. I didn't when I first met her, but she's sweet on prolonged acquaintance.

Becca is currently regaling the world with the tale of how one Peter Kenny Jones was the mascot for Liverpool versus Crystal Palace last night. They asked the BBC to show him when they filmed it, but the BBC being as obliging as they, filmed him all the way onto the pitch, having a kickabout with the players, and going off again, while all the while Becca herself was crying at the sight.

What else do I need to remember? Yes... I need to find my sixth form application form to get signatures. Sigh.

And lastly... I promised I would do this, so here goes...

In maths this afternoon, I was with Enid ([livejournal.com profile] cucharita) and Rola, and for some reason we were talking about A-level choices. Rola wanted to know why I'm doing Chemistry - I explained it's because my mother will throw me out otherwise, and Enid asked, "Does she still want her darling daughter to be a doctor?"
"A paedriatician, to be specific," I said, lazily.
Enid considered. "Would you really want to do that, looking at people's feet all day?"
After the laughter had died down, she said, "You're going to embarrass me in LJ, aren't you?"
I said I would and I have. Rola was still laughing.

And that was my day, for better or worse.

I need to wash my hair. It doesn't look like it needs washing, but it smells like it.
If that makes sense.

I will!
Poor Jane, she's now a guinea pig.
I'm lucky in that respect. My beloved father does watch M*A*S*H with me... and he is a surgeon, so he helps me out a lot with fic. My mother, another doctor, professes to hate the show, but the other day I caught her watching the one where Hawk tows the latrine to North Korea and shrieking with laughter.

*shakes head* Anyway. Hawk's Nightmare. Should go and put that in my bag while I remember...
