Incidentally, I did google for Spencer Eldon beforehand. The only easy way to find out who he was was to put the name in quotes, so I figured it wasn't that easy...

Aristotle Onassis was born on the 20th of January ... in 1906. At the age of 16 he left home with about sixty quid in his pocket and went to Argentina to become a tobacco trader, and was a dollar millionaire by the age of 23. In the post-WWI depression he bought a half-dozen unused ships and later developed a very successful tanker fleet. He ended up very very rich indeed.
