Just wanted to say that I have been really enjoying all of your M*A*S*H fic even not being familiar with the canon, it's lovely! Very curious to try at least the book, now...

Aww, thank you for telling me, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the stories!

Can I encourage you not to start with the book, or if you do, bear in mind it’s a very different beast? It’s the same story in most ways, but the tone is wildly different - the tv show is sweet and funny whereas the book and movie are much crueller. The characters also change a lot - same names, but the tv versions are complex and again softer and sweeter (Hawkeye in particular - he goes from being an unsympathetic football-obsessed Republican to a queerish card-carrying liberal with mental health issues). I think you'd be a bit shocked going from the MASH fic on the internet to the book.

Ahh, thank you for the warning! I was thinking the book might be more accessible just because I tend to have difficulty finding time to consume TV, but that does sound like a pretty drastic difference.
