I forgot this story! There are spoilers in it for the fact that Voyager did in fact, get home. (Was that a helpful thing to say? idk.) But nothing else specific except, I guess, that Naomi and Seven exist. I mention this for the well-beloved gang of friends who are watching it for the first time.

Wonderful! I felt so nostalgic as she was visiting all those places, always working. I left a comment on the fic itself, but additionally, I just want to say that your Seven of Nine is pitch perfect. I could hear her voice.

In your head canon, how does Seven deal with Naomi's crush?

I'm so glad you enjoyed this story! It's been a long time since I wrote about these characters and they're still very important to me.

Seven and Naomi's crush: hmmm. So I think Seven might need help on this! She's found romantic relationships difficult to navigate before and while she's happily bi later on it's not clear that she's familiar with that aspect of it at this point. I think Seven might go try and find a friend, not necessarily one from Voyager because it would be helpful to talk to someone who didn't know Naomi, and just say, what do I do! What might be appropriate? (Maybe her aunt, who she was getting closer to?) And honestly, I think she might end up wanting to try a relationship with Naomi, but having given it another few years first. A bit more of a gap so they're both well into adulthood, and then they can try figuring out what they are to each other as different people, who've grown and changed.

Yes, beautifully! We've just finished (well, except for a new year's special) a Japanese show on Netflix (with the very unprepossessing English-language title of The Full-Time Wife Escapist, but frankly, the original Japanese title is equally ehhhh) that was excellent about relationships, including one in which a younger man (32) and older woman (49) circle around the possibility--or not--of a relationship. Speaking as an older woman, I can say the older woman was very empathetically portrayed.

With Seven and Naomi, you have the added complication that Naomi ages up quickly, right? (Am I remembering right?) So she will "catch up" with Seven (although in terms of experiences, of course she'll be behind... although if you only take Seven's experiences since becoming an individual and add those to her childhood years, they become much closer in age.
