Brass monkeys
Oct. 17th, 2002 09:11 pmI am freezing.
I just found my room thermometer. The temperature in the room is 13 degrees Centigrade.
Of course, the bloody fucking central heating refuses to work because no-one can understand the instruction manual, so it purrs away in the corner while we all freeze to death.
And because there is no central heating, there is no hot water either. All the water is somewhat colder than 13 degrees, though I haven't stuck in the thermometer to see.
So, while I freeze at 10 degrees below room temperature, I am trying to revise Physics. But I can't, because I keep stopping to blow on my hands.
On a quite unrelated note, I just found out fanfiction.net has a M*A*S*H section. This raises ff.net in my opinion, which isn't to say I don't still think it sucks. It's so popular, so heavily used, and it continues with its adverts and crappy layout and horribly screwed-up formatting.
And it doesn't even have that saving grace, a FAQ!

Cold?
on 2002-10-17 03:03 pm (UTC)He turns the thermostat down-down-down until it hits the stop.
I close any windows I can find which are open, and then I turn the thermostat back up again.
Today the boiler clicked on when the thermostat passed through 12 degrees Centigrade.
Brrrrrr.
At least my heating is easy for the two of us to understand.
Sometimes I wish the stepson didn't know how to use it so the place would stay warm.
