If I get this right, then hopefully this will crosspost to LJ as well as Dreamwidth. ([personal profile] forthwritten has been talking me through it all morning.) Fingers crossed. Anyway, on that note, I have made all the changes I'm going to make - you can comment on my DW or my LJ, I honestly don't mind either way. I think I have given access on DW to everyone who can read my flocked posts on LJ - if this isn't the case just let me know. Ditto if you have a DW user account that I've somehow missed.

That is all, please talk amongst yourselves in the comments. Imagine there is a sideboard with mimosas and cheese and pineapple on sticks, and those little brie-cranberry parcels I like.

edited to add and edit crossposting works too, hurrah.

You're welcome!

I couldn't possibly. Well...if you're quite sure... Just a little one then.

Iona, she paused for breath, that means she hates your cooking.

I was trying to be polite! Or I really will eat all the brie and cranberry parcels.

I was brought up with Dignity and Manners, just because I'm not dribbling all over Iona's fingers doesn't mean to say I don't like Iona's cooking.

This sounds unintentionally rude. Sorry.

Oh wow a mimosa is an edible thing. I thought it was a plant that pretended to die when you touched it. The things one learns!

May I offer some polite concrit on your DW layout?

Personally, I find white text on a black background very hard to read.

Also, it's a very narrow layout (or at least that's how it's showing up on my laptop). Some of the comment threads end up very constricted, so that the later comments are just one word wide and ridiculously long! forthwritten's one that begins 'I was trying to be polite!' honestly looks like some kind of daring modern poetry.

I have LJ set to automatically show people's posts in my own style. I shall have to check if DW offers the same option...

I am on Windows XP Home edition, currently using Google Chrome.

I just checked this page using Firefox, and the width issue is a little better when viewed in FF: forthwritten's 'I was trying to be polite!' comment shows up as three words wide, rather than just one word!

My original comment, i.e. in direct response to your post, still comes up as the same width in either browser - about an inch in from the left edge of the screen, and leaving almost the entire right half of the screen empty.
