Personally, I think it was hilarious. (Mostly because I'm chock-a-block full of various frustration at the moment, and it's laugh or burst.)

I think it calls for a series as well. Dating Latina/os (the PC thing to do would be to break it up by country, but there are a lot of them), Italians, Greeks, Africans (at least broken up by region or language, if not by country), British, Australians, Chinese, Japanese, all the hyphen-Americans (by race and ethnic background), Canadians (come on, we all know they are the highest maintenance of all), Russians, Scandinavians, and so forth and so on. One must always be prepared to milk as much humor as possible from the idiocy and denseness of others. (And thank the gods that she's not *your* significant other.)

I'm only serious in the sense that I think it would make a great column in The Onion (satirical newspaper based out of Wisconsin, if I remember correctly) or segment on Comedy Central's The Daily Show.
