Basically: [livejournal.com profile] yuletide fail (4500 words! none of them ANY GOOD); Christmas shopping fail (four presents! Have I got them? Guess); birthday present fail ([livejournal.com profile] shimgray's birthday is November 17th); work fail (mock civil advocacy assessment tomorrow - need to read case, write submissions, IRON MY SHIRT, which of these have I done, hmmm); cool temperate maritime fail (cold, wet, cold, wet, no heating, cold, wet); daylight savings fail (sunset in Oxford, December 15th, 2009 - 3.52pm); and getting-out-of-bed fail (er - I didn't).

Also I am nearly out of filter coffee. But I am going to survive to the end of this week, I am going to go home for Christmas, all will be fine, in the words of [livejournal.com profile] gamesiplay's soothing and affirmative mantra for the time of year, ALL IS CALM AND ALL IS FUCKING BRIGHT, GODDAMMIT.

Have some Christmas carols and winter-themed whatnots:

-Sixpence None The Richer - Carol of the Bells;
-Stars - Fairytale of New York;
-Sara Bareilles and Ingrid Michaelson - Winter Song (m4a);
-Sarah McLachlan - The First Noel (m4a);
-Vienna Teng - The Atheist Christmas Carol.

The holiday love meme - I'm here. I have dropped across and posted love on the people I know (and love, obv). The world needs love today.

And now, back to sorting my life out.

Exeunt, reciting "all is calm all is bright all is calm all is FUCKING BRIGHT GODDAMMIT..."

Oh, hey, remember that fic for your 21st birthday that's still only half-written?

Yeah, you're doing better than I am ♥

I haven't bought any Christmas presents either.

*grins* Seriously. I love that you are writing me a fic, dates don't mean a thing. :)

There is no fail. There is only do, or do later. If you feel like it. Maybe. After tea.

Yoda. He didn't get to be 900 years old by finishing up his life in a day.

I <3 you. Also, I love love love Carol of the Bells and have not heard this version, and in general your music recs are great.

I feel you on the cold thing, too. I came home from Nottingham on Sunday to find that our boiler is not working; it does not ignite, consequently there is no heating and no hot water (except from repeated kettle boiling) and it is FUCKING COLD, OMG. *sigh*

Look forward to next week! It sounds less busy? :) That's what I'm looking forward to.

:P I'm glad! This version is unusual for me because it, er, has lyrics - I'm presuming you already have the Trans-Siberian Orchestra version?

SO COLD. And now snow! This is not normal.

Iona, have you seen my brain? It seems to have gone awol. Having been excited by music, I utterly failed to actually download it. Shall go about rectifying that any second now...

I don't know which version I have, but it has lyrics... unless I'm thinking of a different carol of the bells? My version features in here (well worth a watch, also they wrote a maths geek love song called 'finite simple group of order two' which is just AWESOME).

I am so glad we don't have snow. NO HEATING. How is this fair.

Oh noes! It's fixed now. :)

The Trans-Siberian Orch version is called Christmas in Sarajevo 12/24 and is AWESOME. You need it in your life.

Next time I can USE MY LAPTOP WITH INTERNET, omg, I'm really looking forward to downloading this music; thank you!

Leigh, I have actually been reciting this to myself today. I must have sounded like a total loon cycling up today muttering occasional profanities. But I think it helped.

(Enjoy the music! It's good stuff.)
