How indie are you? test by ridethefader
You're just too cool for school, aren't you? You're pretty narrow minded
and opinionated with regards to music (and probably most other things
as well). But you're allowed to be, because you really are better
than everyone else. You take pride in obscurity.
You probably prefer vinyl too, you elitist bitch.
Unfortunately, that is me. Very me. I don't prefer vinyl, but I am an elitist bitch. And extremely opinionated.
Anyway, that's not the point. I have nothing to update about, really...
I am still beavering away at the M*A*S*h fic, and surprisingly, enjoying it. A lot. I was a little worried that it has lots of happenings and meanderings, but there's no actual point to it, but then it occurred to me that the show itself is exactly like that, too(!)
I watched the M*A*S*H pilot today, anyway. It's a little different from the regular eps, because it has a pre-credits bit, before Radar calls out, "They're coming!" And then the helicopters come in and the theme starts. The whole thing was oddly depressing, as well as very funny, but I guess they're all like that.
Strangely, I've found my parents were both fans of M*A*S*H when they were younger, and as I get hooked on it, they both have started watching it again after so many years. My mum has been muttering, "No aliens, thank God," when I say I'm going to watch it, so that's always a good sign. She can't understand why I like it so much - come to think of it, neither can I - it's just so darkly addictive.
On this subject, my fangirlishness is bothering me, so the list of tv shows I watch:
- Frasier. I grew up watching Cheers so this one's a no-brainer.
- Friends. Another one I've just always watched.
- Will and Grace. Like the other two, one Pedar watches with me, and lines like "Repetitious and repetitious, said the Boston Globe!" crack me up.
- Enterprise. So refreshing after the other Trek series, and consistently sharp and funny.
- Stargate. Although I seem to be on my way out of this fandom, especially as I've now seen all episodes except one (Shadow Play) but the oldest and biggest fandom I'm in, and the one I've made the most friends through.
- M*A*S*H. Bleakly funny and hideously addictive, with really compelling characters. Pedar doesn't watch this one all the time, but he does sometimes, and knows what's going on from long ago. I always appreciate his support - more fights in this house about what to watch on telly than anything else.
No more fangirlishness.
