[livejournal.com profile] yuletide deadline: in six days, exactly. It is Monday, 15th December, 2.16am, and I am at 2241 words, with countless others to follow. Talk to me, flist. How are you doing? Does anyone else have absolutely no idea what happens in their story? Are you throwing section breaks around like confetti? Feeling a sudden urge for gin? Have at it in the comments, do.

Mine is stalled nigh unto death. The prompt was one word: 'Nameoffictionalworld', and ze hasn't put up a Santa letter to guide me, and I'm stuuuuuck. It doesn't help that the canon covers at least four large clusters of main characters, three main locations and hundreds of minor ones, and literally hundreds of years. "£$%!.

Oh noooo. Oh, no. But that indicates they're cool with anything, right? Right?

Zero words! Full of fail! Utterly despairing! Dreaming of having section breaks to throw!

However. The director of my fandom. Which I am not saying what it is, of course. Well. HE SEES THE SLASH TOO. HE WINS AT THE DIRECTOR'S COMMENTARY.

(Because watching the director's commentary = working on my yuletide, y'see...)

I don't even actually want to own up to how badly my yuletide is going. Put it this way, not only have I not started but I've also recently misplaced my only copy of the source material.......

I will do it. It will be fine.

I have words, and a sort of story arc imposed by historical fact, but it has yet to snap together. I may be lacking in characterization. I may, in fact, need to re-read the source text. Soon.

I know what mine is. Um. It has yet to have any words in it, however. *wibble*

I am not doing Yuletide. I do, however, have three weeks to write 8,000 words on royalism during the interregum. I would love to write fiction. I don't have the chance to throw around section breaks, although I am flinging about 'therefore we can see that' like anyone, mostly because this makes the word count go up by five words. I also have no idea what's going to happen in the end, although if it helps I have a jolly nice bottle of wine stashed away for the due date.

So, you know, your pain? I feel it.

(ALSO! When are you in the North-West over this festive season? I am... er... not there very often, only between 23rd-27th (and those are the travelling days) but it would be PROPER ACE to see you and thank you properly for the AWESOMESAUCE book you sent me, which I don't already have and thank you for greatly.)
