Welcome to the Slings & Arrows ficathon!

Here’s how it works. You sign up with your name and email address, and give me a shopping list of two or three things that you want in your fic. You also tell me one thing you don’t think you can write. Simple as that.

Sign-ups will be open from today, July 22nd, to July 27th. I will try to get assignments out by the 29th, possibly before.

If for whatever reason you sign up and can't make the deadline, the thing to do is to tell me. I won't be pissed off if only you tell me, so I can assign a back-up author and your recipient gets a story and everyone's happy. If you then get your story to me later, everyone's even happier. Just let me know.

Fics will be due on Saturday, September 1st at midnight BST, with a minimum word count of 1000 words. I will post a masterlist on my journal (loneraven), where you can comment with links to where your fics are posted. Please try to get stories betaed if possible.

Dude! YOU are the person who wrote that brilliant Henry V S&A fic for yuletide, weren't you? (How dumb will I feel if you're not? Very.) I don't think I ever feedbacked it because I am a bad person, but it was, well, brilliant. I got teary-eyed with love for it in the middle of the workday--and that was while I was working on the slush pile of a literary magazine, so reading something good was such a refreshing and novel experience. :D

Because I am a stalker, I've been reading your journal tonight, and now I'm off to friend you. And here ends my embarrassing gush. (Sorry, Raven, carry on with the ficathon, which still rocks very, very hard.)

Yes, that was me (well, as you've obviously figured out!), and what feedback! :) I always worry a bit about writing S&A because it's so close to my Real Job that I'm afraid sometimes I can't see the characters, but they're written so strongly in the show that the voices must come through anyway. :) I'm so glad you liked it!
