I had a run-in with one of those out-of-place scallies today. You know the ones I mean - "Eeeeeeh, what're you lookin' at?" She looked a right little gypsy, dressed up in what looked like curtains along with huge gold rings in her ears. I ignored her. Tried not to talk, and wished I had something I could scare her with - but to no avail. Little bitch. Needs to get a life.

Anyway, I then came home, read the Guardian, and found a rather.... startling article. Having written to Hathor about it, here it is in full:

See if you can get the Internet supplement for today, Thursday, 'cause guess what's in it! Only the savedanieljackson campaign! It's all >about how MGM completely misinterpreted the fans' reactions to >the "cult TV series Stargate SG-1" and all stuff like this! It's so >weird!

OHMYGOD!!! I've just read this- and forwarded to like veryonbe i know. I can't believe this!!! They make us look so nasty!!! 'Far too much time on our hands and not enough friends'- oooooh, thats evil.

See, and now I'm worked up. Now, fair enough, people can have their opinions, but although I'm not *glad* Daniels gone, it WILL breathe fresh air into the show which it desperately needed, although they coulda done it in a better way

BUT there IS more to the show than Daniel, and I'm so pissed off now! No offence to ya at all, as I lovefd Daniel too, but... grrrr. Why fifn' thtye mention the good things, like the obsessive love of the show, etc???? And the fact that not ALL of us are obsessive Daniel-ites (no offence intended) Actually, its bad for sci-fi fans in general.

But we got in the paper! Hurrah!

Done rnating now.

This is what I wrote: I was delighted to read that the www.savedanieljackson.com campaign has made it into the pages of the Guardian! The article describing the recent furore surrounding the departure of the character of Daniel Jackson from the sci-fi series Stargate SG-1 was very accurate - and as a fifteen-year-old mad fan of the show, I approve! But one thing was not mentioned - TPTB (The Powers That Be - in this case, MGM) did get one thing right! The last episode in which Daniel appeared as a regular character featured his "death" - but a loophole was left for him to return in the sixth and last season of the show.
And one more thing - sci-fi fans do not have "too much time on their hands and too few friends!" I trust I've made my case!

Good letter- you make us all look sane. (see, now I'm upset that I do not have a litery family and the best we get is the Mirror on a Saturday because my mum likes the TV paper)

Hope we all approve! We're not crazy - just very, very obsessed.... >And I'm sure they appreciated having the mysterious acronym TPTB >translated for them - they seemed somewhat confused....

But can you just imagine someone normal trying totranslate an sci-fi fans emal? AT, RDA, MS, CJ, TPTB, WIP, TBC, etc...

But at least they DID an article!

Okies. Well, thansk for sending that on, have now saved...

Awwww, crap. Have to go- I';m supposed to be doing homework and I've not even started and I've got 5 miutes to produce a page. Eeeeep.
