I am wearing jeans, brown Timberland boots, a red t-shirt, a green jumper, sparkly spangly scarf and a red velvet scrunchie. I do not own a full-length mirror. I look like a Christmas tree.

...hey, [livejournal.com profile] yuletide! Let's talk about that. My assignment didn't change during the snafu, which I was initially disappointed about - I mean, sure, I can do the assignment, but I wasn't feeling the squee. And then I went for a wander through the city and turned it over in my head a bit, and it all crystallised and made sense and yes, yes, I am feeling that squee right now.

And while we're on the subject, here's my letter.

Dear [livejournal.com profile] yuletide author,

Hey, you! Yes, you! You're awesome! Like, times eleventy million and then some! Thank you for writing for me, I appreciate it, and I am not complaining about anything you want to write, mmkay?

But maybe you're the sort of person who likes prompts, 'n' stuff? Well, I like happy stories and I like angsty stories. I prefer gen and UST to all-out slash or het, but I've certainly read and enjoyed enough of the latter to sink a ship, so you know, go crazy.

Re: the individual fandoms, well, I have no idea what I requested, so quite possibly I'm just going to say again what I've said already, but here goes. For the Casson family stories, I'd quite like an ensemble piece, because I love the ways all the characters and their craziness bounce off each other. And I basically do love all the canon characters - specially Eve's offstage Juvenile Delinquents, for some reason - and whatever you write, I bet I'll love it.

For Making History: Mikey and Steve, yay! Yay, they are so sweet and lovely! Please for them to be having happy now? I cannot bear any more heartbreak for them. Except I probably can, and will like it. But, you know. Cambridge in summer time with happy boys in love. It makes me squee.

For RENT: I think I specified Mark and Roger, like everyone does, but I do love them, in any configuration. Gen, slash, happy, sad and angsty (which, okay, in this fandom is basically a given), futurefic, deathfic, whatever, it's all good. Maybe barring crack.

Anyway! Have a lovely time writing, and thank you.

love,
~Raven

I'm glad I have a vague idea about that, anyway. I need to finish my [livejournal.com profile] ds_team_angst story tonight, or else risk not finishing it at all. It needs about two paragraphs to finish, and has done for a week and a half, because of the COLD WAR, OMG.

Speaking of which, my tutor has gone to a wedding. Sigh. No tute on hundreds of years of twentieth century history for me, then. So I didn't do much of anything today other than enjoy the weather, which is utterly glorious. It's cold, snap-in-the-air cold, and clear and beautiful, like ice. My absolute favourite type of weather, so I got out of bed in the morning, went to a Cold War lecture (I hate these lectures - they always tell me lots of things that are very interesting and useful twenty-four hours AFTER I needed to know), tried to go back to bed, failed. I went for a run instead, down by the river. The waters are still low enough for me to run my usual route, and the weather is so perfect and cold that I wish I could have done it forever. I couldn't, of course; having not run in weeks, because I am a lazy bum, my lungs complained after a while, but it was lovely.

Last night, [livejournal.com profile] jacinthsong appeared with her entire body weight in kitchenware, and we made - well, she made; [livejournal.com profile] lizzwig and [livejournal.com profile] foulds and I sat and made helpful noises - apple fritters, which are rings of apple, deep-fried. Mmm. I also had cupcakes, and Lizzie asked specifically for After Eights, for reasons that should be very clear, and wine. (Which took two attempts to buy - the first time they said nooooooo. Woe. I am twenty, I said! I am a twenty-year-old woman whose driving licence has been LOST by the DVLA, please give me alcohol - but they wouldn't. Woe.)

And then, muchly sugared, we watched most of season two of Slings & Arrows, and after a while Maria came to ask if anyone wanted vodka, mint and elderflower (answer: yes!) and a punnet of hazelnuts from the market, and my friends are awesome, really. We watched people doing Shakespeare and cracked nuts, like real groundlings. We are so cool. And damn, once again, I love this show. I love, love Geoffrey and the kids' production of Macbeth. An eight-year-old saying: "I don't understand life. It just goes on and on with no purpose." Argh. Love. And I never noticed before, but when Lady Macbeth disperses the guests at the banquet after Banquo's ghost appears, one of them says, "What, no dessert?" It's adorable.

In the morning, my room looked like a bomb had hit it, but it was so much fun. So much fun, even though I'm now very sleepy indeed and need to read Hume.

Oh, and. The lovely people at LSAC (note sarcasm) tell me that LSAT scores are released "approximately three weeks" after the test date. Three weeks after my test date is tomorrow. Oh, woe. I happened to meet the lovely [livejournal.com profile] slasheuse and her lovely mum in Starbucks this afternoon, and they were very cheering about it.

But still. Woe.

Anyway! Hume! And maybe writing, later. I am so rock 'n' roll.

So far as I know, our scores should be emailed at 10:00 on Monday (this is what I've read around the site and such). Of course, that's only if everything has gone perfectly on their end. My roommate's MCAT scores were delayed several days beyond what they were supposed to be... I'm not sure I'd deal well with that right now.

...right. No, I don't think I would deal with that well right now either. *sighs*

Eeeeeeee! Just reading about S&A cheers me up. I love the kids' production too. Apple fritters sound incredibly yummy, I didn't get anything to eat at my event, even though it was marginally less nerve-wracking than last week. (Not as good as S&A of course. But then what is?.

Also:

...May I suggest compulsory After Eights at all future viewing sesssions?

The lovely people at LSAC (note sarcasm)

Noted, echoed, and italicized. Good lord that is an evil, evil, evil company.I can't even think about how much of my money they now have after doing the whole applying process TWICE. (That's somewhere in the vicinity of 16 schools, not including the Canadian ones!)

I had a really similar response, actually. But since then I have been poking the internets, and now I am looking forward to it!
