Okay, events in sequence:

1. September 12th. hawkfromhandsaw deadline. A bunch of people post, and I am grateful. I know, because I've been told, that some people are internetless and adrift in Germany/Scottishland/Nottingham, and so know not to expect them yet.

2. Nine separate people get in touch and apologise for missing deadline, but will, they say, post over the weekend.

3. September 14th. I leave country.

4. September 17th, I return to country. It is now Monday, and ten o'clock on a Monday evening at that. How many of the nine people have done as they said they would and posted their stories?

NONE.

Not nine.

NONE AT ALL.

Have also written off ever completing Slings & Arrows masterlist. One person who should have got a story didn't and for that I am truly sorry. I'm out of pinch-hitters so I can't get a replacement unless I do it myself, which I will do, because it's really not that person's fault. Just, not in the next couple of days.

Yeah, no more running ficathons. Like, ever.

Anyway! I had a lovely time over the weekend, and it's only the coming back which has spoilt it at all.

Also, dear ghastly real-life people sending me ghastly emails: you do NOT get to chew me out for not meeting a deadline you DIDN'T TELL ME I HAD TO MEET. Aforementioned one-woman not-for-profit ficathon is better organised than you, for the love of fuck.

I'm one of them, obviously, and can only say I am so, so sorry. A lot. Really very much a lot.

I haven't just buggered off and not done it, or anything - I actually have the file open right now - but things - mainly health-related but not all - just intervened horrendously the way they seem to with crucial stuff like this (and with other things- this is by no means last on my list, and have also failed to book poet for 4th week and read essential middle english poem), and it just won't work somehow. As in, tried for ages to get Geoffrey's voice, then realised I couldn't and ended up doing Ellen-fic.

But this does not, I know, mitigate your stress - I can only reiterate how sorry I am, and will keep at it and post a.s.a.p. Also, if you want help with the tagging and such so you don't have to do it all, I'm happy to assist.

but I LOVE the hawkfromhandsaw challenge! even if i haven't, umm, finished it yet. i did not, however, promise to finish this weekend, as i think i got myself completely in over my head. (suicide - five different characters, five different fandoms, why the hell not?!)

i PROMISE it will get done though. it's too genius not too. well, no. it's just that i'll never get the chance to kill of so many characters in this way again EVER. since everyone has made it clear suicide is too heavy for yuletide, losers. ;)

i am sorry the world sucks though, and that my story isn't there for you. :(
