Have fallen stupidly, spectacularly in love with Boston.

More later, I think. I am taking photos rather than taking notes. I spent today following the Freedom Trail in and around the city, and watching the sailboats on the river, and, later in the day and entirely by accident, I found Boston's memorial for the 9/11 victims. (I didn't realise before, but both of the flights originated in Boston.) It's a room with candles, an endless list of names and water on three sides. Very hard to describe, or to explain the impact of.

I am trying very hard not to think of going back, and how useless my life will be then. Still. I'm in the States for two more days. A little more escapism.

Isn't it gorgeous? I haven't been there since I was about thirteen, which is a pity, but I loved it when I was there.

(Miss you, of course.)

(Miss you too. Waaah.)

Wah. I want to go to Boston. It sounds wonderful.

Do say hello to Charles Emerson Winchester III for me, will you?

It is, it really is! And my first thought on seeing the Charles River was that wonderful episode of M*A*S*H where Winchester goes swimming in it - he can't drown in a river that's named after him... *g*

I love Boston. I'd live there if I could. That blend of modern and historic is so wonderful. And there's the ocean. And all those bookstores and coffee shops. And college boys. *pines*

Oh, I loved it for all of those reasons. I wanted to just up and move there so damn much. *clings to it*

Do you feel you'll be able to beta read such a monstrosity?

And I thought you might like it-- in fact, I chose it because it reminded me of you.
