Dear TV license people,

I appreciate that watching TV without a license is illegal and anti-social, and that not having one leaves me subject to a £1000 fine plus the £126 I should have paid for the license in the first place. I am also aware that my property, if you could call it that, is unlicensed, as your letter of today states so emphatically.

However, I thought you should know: I DON'T HAVE A TV.

The BBC don't show adverts; they get their money from TV licenses. So every house that has a TV needs to pay for the license, or Very Bad Things will happen.

Hee. Back in Norwich, one of my friends' families didn't own a TV, and the licensing people refused to believe this was possible even after they'd explained this half a dozen times. I believe they had to go and search everywhere they thought it could be hidden before believing her mum. *g*

That is kind of an interesting idea. Better than commercials every 7 minutes, at least. But then, I haven't had tv in a long time anyway.

There was some story about how the TVLA work on the assumption that EVERYONE has a TV and ANYONE who claims they don't is lying. Apparently, when they did those adverts which went "3 houses in Water Street [or wherever] don't have TV licenses", they did one for a certain street in Leeds where 20 of them didn't have licenses. Street X responded, "Yes. You'll have noticed that this is where Leeds's Orthodox Jews live, then?"

Yeah, the fuckwinks kept on at us too. Despite everything though, my lot then proceeded to bring the Tv in their bedrooms into the main room. So I lived in near constant fear of being caught :/

I hated it. I kept asking if we were going to do the tv liscence, and they seemed to think i was just being fogey-ish. Neat-freak runts. *shakes head*
Whee! Criminalness :D But I never watched anything on there (bar eps of corrie they were watching on the few occasions where I came in from work and actually made myself something for tea)
