I should really revise, or talk about yesterday's exam or something (which was okay, ish) but I'm feeling much too lazy to actually do anything. Instead, just a question. Has anyone ever bought something second-hand off amazon.co.uk? Is it simple to do? And if you buy more than one item off the same seller, do you have to pay postage&packing more than once?

I just did this afternoon, actually -- it was a combo order of two things out of the regular Amazon UK catalog and one thing from a marketplace seller. I'd originally had two items from the same seller, but bumped one out of the cart, since the postage cost more than each CD did and it was getting silly.... I didn't notice exactly how it was incremented, though (i.e. if it was one base price and a smaller amount for additional items, or the same amount for both) -- sorry.

Bear in mind that I'm paying international postage, of course, so mileage may vary if it... well, travels fewer miles. ;) And all you have to do to check is dump it all in your basket and go as far as the confirmation screen -- it'll tell you there exactly how much you'll have to pay to each seller before you put the order through.

From what I've seen, I'm beginning to think the postage is the same for everything and not incremental. Thanks for your help; if it travels okay all the way over there and then I should imagine it's fine when it's domestic.

I've bought second hand books from amazon uk, and they do require you to pay postage for each item, even if they're from the same seller. Tends to be £ 1.75 or something like that though, and you get them quickly, but I suppose that depends on the seller as well.

Buying second hand is simple. So far I've had one order not turn up, but it got lost in the post and they refunded once I asked after it. Also one order cancelled because they'd sold it somewhere else already. Plus people have different ideas of what constitutes 'good' condition, so be wary if quality is important to you. P&P is added to every order and is a fixed price. I often order more than one but haven't yet had the postage put together.

Yes, I've had second-hand stuff via Amazon-- dead easy though I think you do have to pay p&p for every item.

I've bourght many things off the marketplace. It's simple, just like ordering from amazon. I don't know if i got charaged postage for both items though, best to email the seller and ask I should think :)
You've just reminded me I have to go and kill 'Caiman_USA' actually...
