How long 'til my soul gets it right?
Jan. 20th, 2005 08:02 pmMy parents said they were sorry my previous birthdays had been of the suck. They got me a cake. It is pink and has a fairy on it. And presents I can rip the wrapping off of. I am still in shock. They gave me a big box of jelly beans, the Angel season two DVD boxset, and um, an iPod photo.
Definitely still in shock. It is the sexiest thing. Sleek and brushed metal, and I can't believe they thought of it. It needs a name.
I also opened the parcels that had come in the post - Mani sent me earrings and a miniature fruitcake,
amchau sent me a book, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Philosophy (to laughter from all - I love it) and
language_idling sent me some fanart (that is really much better than you think it is, Meredith) and a birthday CD.
Thank you, everybody, for your gifts, cards, and good wishes. I love you all. This has been the best birthday ever.
[and happy eighteenth birthday,
broncobabe007!]

on 2005-01-20 08:14 pm (UTC)I'm glad you like The Indigo Girls, I too love Galileo, it's probably my favourite too. Do you remember me trying to make you dance to it at Jane's, when we watched Buffy all night? Heh. Same song. I also love Dairy Queen, and others. Jane has the actual CDs, you should steal.
I was planning on phoning you tonight, and I feel I ought to, but I've just noticed that it's past eight already, and I haven't even started my work. You really wouldn't know that I have exams next week...
If I don't phone you tonight, I'll ring tomorrow.
xx

Call it Delilah. Or Hubert. Depending on which gender it is, obviously. Because nobody wants a gender-confused iPod.

on 2005-01-22 12:35 am (UTC)It's an old Vietnamese name meaning 'moon'. The computer itself is a mac iBook, with a short of white chrome finish that looked, at the time, a little like a bright moon... at least to me. ^^;

on 2005-01-21 01:43 pm (UTC)I recommend calling the iPod after one of the Nac Mac Feegle. I'm halfway through The Wee Free Men, and for the first time have fallen in love with an entire fictional race.
Finally, when's good to call you this weekend? Sunday morning again?

on 2005-01-21 05:27 pm (UTC)The only problem I have with mine is that you need a USB2.0 to connect it *and* have Windows XP. My sister had one and I had the other but now hers has both (because the USB2.0 was relocatable, not wthe Windows XP). Grr. Have my new headphones now so can take it places easier now. Whee!

on 2005-01-21 05:35 pm (UTC)Have you put music and photos on it yet? Have done the former but not the latter, hopefully will get some time to play with it next week.

on 2005-01-21 06:43 pm (UTC)"Sir bashalot" mainly cause it is definitely a he-
takes a long time when running more than one program and is very distressed when I want it to do more than one thing at the same time,
bashalot- as it takes repeated whacks to make it actually turn on
