I got into Oxford. AAA (excluding General Studies) offer for PPE at Balliol.
I don't know what to say, really. Except, ohmygod, I got into Oxford, I applied to the most popular course at the most popular college, and got in, and oh god, I think I'm going to cry.
Also - I'm home, I'm ill, have flown six thousand miles with raging temperature, my ears are yet to depressurise, I'm deaf, our luggage hasn't come because we caught the Manchester flight on final call with thirty seconds to spare, I'm tired, jet-lagged, missing the boys, did I mention ill, sleepless, was reduced to sobbing heap on descent because of sheer pain, have no clean clothes, etc., etc., argh.
Got home, found battered wet Christmas cards (from Hannah and Flick, thank you!) and battered wet massive envelope with Balliol stamp. I don't have to do Medicine. I'm gonna do PPE. I got in.

on 2004-12-23 09:37 pm (UTC)AAA sounds a bit harsh though - in my day we got offers of 2 "Es" for entrance to Cambridge if you passed the entrance exam 4th term 6th form...
Hope you feel better soon. You should bask in your superstardom!

on 2004-12-24 10:18 am (UTC)Well done, anyway. It's got to be a big relief to have the actual offer.
I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well-- get better soon, my dear. When you're not deaf any more, call me.

on 2004-12-24 11:22 am (UTC)Well done! You deserve it more than anyone else I know.
(P.S Lara got in to do PPE as well but not at the college she applied to. Can't remember which one she's in now - maybe you'll end up together! Colleen Show takes over at university level! Terrifying.)
