I'm not exactly phone-savvy -- is it possible for me to text-message you? I know I couldn't call home when I was in Australia, so I'm thinking the answer is no. If I can, though, I'm not sure I know your number...?

I'm in London at the moment, having monopolised a friend's computer, and will email you my phone number. It accepts text messages sent from anywhere in the world except America, which is a good thing, I think. I'll email you the number (public post, etc).

I bet that's why the lj-to-text function doesn't work: I'm not in America, but I don't own a mobile, and lj is in America, so their text messages don't get through. :P

I'm not spamming you with e-mail only by posting in my lj under a filter only you can read, by the way.

There's rambling and fic there for you already, and will probably be more by the time you get back. Which, if I count to two correctly, will be either this evening or tomorrow, depending on how you count days. At which point you'll have masses of time and will therefore answer my e-mail, read my fic, and call me.
