Googlism

It occurred to me that I have never subjected myself to a googlism. So I did, and the results weren't all that enlightening, as my name is so... uncommon, for lack of a better word. Not that I don't like my name; I do. I especially like the way it's Scottish with undertones of Gaelic and Greek, while all the time I'm Indian. It's especially amusing at Indian gatherings; the other day, some woman asked me my name and I told her, at which point she looked confused, so I said, "It's Scottish. It's an island near Mull."

She gave me a long look, and said, "Did you select this name for yourself?", no doubt thinking it came from the same sort of provenance as say, (selecting something completely random here), Raven.

The other day, talking to that girl's mother over the phone, I realised that she probably had no idea I was Asian from my name and my voice (my surname is a very common Indian name, but I didn't put it on the flyer). I wonder, would it be immediately obvious where I came from judging from this journal (and the phone posts it contains)?

I'm getting distracted. The one googlism that really appealed to me was this:

"Iona is called the burial place of kings."

Isn't that beautifully lyrical? I can stand on my version of Mount Sinai and shout that. "I am called the burial place of kings! All hail me!"

I like that. It sounds sufficiently weighty to be shouted from some kind of mountaintop. :)
