I liked this meme:

Where and when did you first hear of my name/see my work/'meet' me? With what people/series/groups etc. have you associated with me? If we've met in Real Life, where, and if you can recall, when? This is not a praise or feedback meme, this is just to track the path of my fandom/RL presence and to see the connections involved, to find out how people link together.

Comment, and I will tell you how much you rock.

I remember getting acquainted with you through [livejournal.com profile] geekgirlofdoom... probably during a M*A*S*H conversation. :)

I met you on the mash-slash list, of course. I don't know quite when that was; I know I joined in early September of 2002, and you soon after, but I'm not sure about the first time we actually directly interacted. So naturally I associate you with that group, and with that period in my life. Plus, whenever we talk about different educational systems at school, I think of you, because I'm always badgering you about your strange system. And... I associate you with what should have been a genre unto itself in M*A*S*H slash: building-the-still fic.

I have yet to meet you in real life, but someday, I'd like that to change.

eek

Where and when did you first hear of my name/see my work/'meet' me?
A bit more than a year ago on the Mashslash group.

With what people/series/groups etc. have you associated with me?
Writers, People who rock, Livejournalers.

If we've met in Real Life, where, and if you can recall, when?
We haven't :(. But we should! :)

You scared me! I just saw the word Memery and thought 'Aah! Iona's [finally] gone insane!' Then I realised it was about a meme. ::facepalms::

Where and when did you first hear of my name

Junior school, oh such a long time ago... Where have the years gone?!

see my work

When we started talking online. I have to say - I still like Cold Coffee. :)

'meet' me?

Junior school...

people

Clare, and more recently Becca, Enid, Hannah and Colleen

series

Stargate, MASH

groups etc. have you associated with me?

Most of the MASH lists/LJ communities

If we've met in Real Life, where, and if you can recall, when?

Junior school! Then two (?) or so years ago again, in Liverpool.

...But then you probably knew all that anyway.

I joined the Yahoo! Mash-slash list in very very late August 2002. You delurked there in November of the same year, and said that you already knew me -- so we must have met here on LJ somewhere in between.

> With what people/series/groups etc. have you associated with me?
MashSlashers, people who like playing with language, LJers.

> If we've met in Real Life, where, and if you can recall, when?
Alas, not yet.

I first heard of your name/saw your work/met you on the M*A*S*H-slash list. I got to know you more through livejournal and e-mail. I associate you with M*A*S*H, of course, and Remus/Sirius slash. You're someone whose writing makes me green with envy, and whom I write postcards to from time to time, and with whom I share a common imaginary friend, and who answers silly questions about life in England, and someone who writes really interesting livejournal entries.

I was going through random LJs using the random LJ searcher and yours seemed more interesting than most for some reason. I don't believe we've ever really associated in any sort of form, but I've read a few of the HP fanfics you've posted or linked to here.

Oh, good, I'm glad you're still around! I was wondering; I hadn't heard anything from you lately.

Let's see - why do you rock? You rock because you're an actual Conservative, but you've stuck around me and all the other whiny liberals. You've educated me politically and honed my debate skills (which are crap, natch). You rock in general. :)

Good meme, isn't it?

That sounds familar. Very familiar, in fact... :)

You rock because you like Pearl Jam! And Nirvana - all Nirvana fans rock by definition. Sadly I no longer have a Nirvana icon to attach to this comment...

The feeling is quite mutual.

Hmm. You rock because of the corsetry. And I've actually spoken to you on the phone, now I come to think of it. That rocks.

I was looking through old messages on the mash-slash list the other day; I think we joined within a couple of weeks of each other. I love the whole fandom synchronicity thing. :)

Actually, Subway sandwiches make me think of you. They remind me of last summer when I was working for the newspaper. Lots of fun.

And as this is a two-way meme, I now get to tell you how much you rock. Which is a lot. As I have said on numerous occasions, I am still astounded by how well you write. But as well as that, you're just cool. Sorry for my lack of eloquence, but I really can honestly say that I'd love to meet you in real life. I really do hope it happens some day. Damn the ocean. :)

*laughs* This comment made me laugh. Interesting to know that you're on the lookout for potential insanity from my direction!

The years... indeed, where have they gone? Seven years, although it's hard to remember we've only been really talking for three. But still, all those years! How have we done it?

I did know most of it, yes. But it was nice to hear it again. :)

You're right. We should.

You rock because of your relentless optimism. Even if I'm pissed off, one of your entries usually makes me giggle. I especially love the titles. TOW...

my icons are rubbish and poo. the only pretty one is the "In Your World" one, which Hannah made for me a long time ago.

You know what rocks about you? EVERYTHING!

And hell, even if everything about you DIDN'T rock, you like Stargate, so I cannot not like you. Huzzah.

And yeah, stay lovely miss Iona! xox

Met you over the Net... and we talked for two years... and the first thing I did upon meeting you was hug you. Sorry, it was instinctive.

With you, I connect slash, Quiggins, the colour red (I connect people to colours instinctively), Stargate and e-mail. I have ever since we first starting chatting, and Online!Iona still reminds me of the same. Reallife!Iona reminds me of glitter, werewolves, also Quiggins but more Liverpool, still the colour red, and the Group we seem to have established.

Et tu?

Hey, I went insane many years ago when I went nocturnal! Just waiting for the rest of you to fall into the trap now... ;)

I feel old. Seven years ago?!

I'm so tired but I can't sleep - and I keep getting fic ideas popping into my head while I'm lying there. I haven't written anything for about 18 months, so it feels rather weird!

And dad won't let anyone download MSN onto 'his' computer, I want mine back!

What's even weirder it how I know you! You started talking to Iona by chance over the net, I started talking to Iona after years of being in different schools because of a chance remark about Stargate... and now I know you too!

Hmm. Let's see. You rock because of how public your journal is. I can only do it to a certain extent before I have to go friends-only. And collectively, you and [livejournal.com profile] scarlatti rock. :)

*grins* I need to send you a stupid Southport By Night postcard, don't I?

You rock because you send me stuff. Because you like penny sweets, and you gave me Moony to look after, and you're a M*A*S*H fan, and most of all because your sense of humour is similar enough to mine for you to have sent me a postcard with lupins on it. I swear I would have done the exact same thing if I'd seen the postcard.

You rock. :)

*grins* I'm sorry to say it, but every time I go past Homebase, I think of you! But also, any mention of Lord of the Rings. Or elves. Or anything with pointy ears, for that matter. Any time anyone uses the simile "gay as a goose."

And the people. You remind me of Christmas, actually. Last Christmas at Em's with the random fairy lights.

But my part of the meme was my telling you how and why you rock. You rock because you're not afraid to be a fangirl, you're relentlessly passionate about gay rights, and your hair is cool. And you are my oldest friend in fandom. Which is scary.

Wow. People associate Homebase, pointy ears and geese with me.

You have no idea how quietly chuffed that makes me.

You rock because you're not afraid to be a fangirl, you're relentlessly passionate about gay rights and your hair is cool.

*grins hugely and blushes* Awww...

And you are my oldest friend in fandom

You know what? If you take away Gill, who I knew pre-fandom, I could probably say the same about you.

That's very cool and slightly scary.
