Velvet Goldmine

I just managed to watch Velvet Goldmine. The phone rang about a thousand times (actually, eight times) but in a two hour film, that's eight times too many. My parents were out, I had to answer it each time, and by phone call number eight I was very very pissed off.

But yes, the film. Outrageousness, sparkle, rock music, eyeliner, cameos by Oscar Wilde and Placebo as the Flaming Creatures, the wonderful moment as featured in the icon attached to this post, Ewan McGregor looking more and more like Kurt Cobain, even when stark bollock naked, and such lovely, lovely glitterlove that I don't have words. Colleen thinks that Harry Potter/Velvet Goldmine crossovers should count as a fandom in their own right, and mmmm... I think she's right. I love Placebo even more now, I love glitterfic even more, and my fingers are itching to write something else glitterific-worthy.

Tomorrow, methinks. Right at this minute, I've finished my Fest fic, need to re-submit that, and dispose of several bunnies, one featuring Gilderoy Lockhart, which I blame Meredith for, and I also have to write Leigh's challenge fic. I have an idea, it just needs writing. Not enough fic-writing hours in the day.

I'm such a fangirl at times. Um... real life, what's there to report? I have bought a pair of jeans, they're quite cool, it's Monday tomorrow and I don't have to go to the dentist, and... um... Sleeping With Ghosts is a very good album.

Velvet Goldmine rocks my world, and I love to hear when it rocks others' too. Was it the first time you saw it? (note to self: make vg icons, liek, now.) Also, I think VG/HP crossovers are imminent, and I hope to be one of the forerunners. *makes banners and flags*

Yeah. The thing about VG is, at first, you're kinda like, it's over? Wha? What the hell happened?!

And then, the next morning, you wake up thinking about it. And trying to remember the songs.

And then you're begging your best friend to bring it back over so you can see it again.

Yeah. I blame dark_tisiphone for it all.

P.S. You're also cool because you're from Liverpool. And I hate you because you get to live in England.

I get to be the good friend in this case - my best friend, chanandlerbong, will never say no to naked!Ewan McGregor.

And finally (*drumroll*) - I'm cool because I'm from Liverpool? That's a new one on me! I ought to be very honest and say I'm not actually English, I'm of Asian descent, but hey, I was born and brought up in Liverpool, and if that makes me cool, then so be it!
