raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (Placebo)

Downstairs, everyone is watching some Hindi language television programme. Is it just me, or does "Gul Sanobar" sound like a Cardassian?

I now have mental imagery of that nuts Cardassian with the five-lights thing. Unless, of course, I just made that up. There was one, wasn't there? One involving the Enterprise sans Picard, who is being tortured by a Cardassian with this strange obsession with flashing lights?

I have just been reading through a couple of communities on LJ - [livejournal.com profile] hathy_col's latest rants about Mary-Sues made me wonder why I never saw any - apparently, they're all over the place and I just never noticed. The pain is physical.

And talking of things that cause physical pain, I just got my pairings from Leigh for the mash-slash challenge. I'm going to kill her.
Well, I'm not. It wasn't her fault. But still. Argle.

That would appear to be all. I have now been here for two weeks. Most of all, I miss my bed. Seriously.
No doubt, if Becca were here, she would insert some comment about the mess on aforementioned bed of mine. I tidied my room before coming here. There were bits of papers all over the computer table, I had "Joint Christmas present?!" on the whiteboard, and books under the bed. They're still there. I didn't tidy up that thoroughly.

You're not making it up -- there *is* an episode where Cardassians try to brainwash Picard into seeing a different number of lights than are actually there.

Good luck on your mash-slash challenge pairing(s). I'm dying to know which ones you got now! :) (I was more fortunate. One of mine was rather unworkable, but two are plausible.)

When do you get to go back home?

Hee! You showed up in my dreams last night. (Nonononono -- it wasn't *that* kind of dream! ;) We were just hanging out in a park somewhere.)

I'm glad! I wondered whether I'd really seen it, or if it was just some weird imagining on my part. Not that I'm glad Picard was tortured, per se, I mean... well, you know what I mean.

Are we allowed to say what our challenge pairings are before they're written? Mine were truly evil - although, a little plot bunny has spawned for one of them. I'm going with the humourous approach, methinks.

Going home on Monday, but I won't be home until Tuesday morning. I'm going to be such a happy bunny, I just know it. Nevermind, will be worth it to fall asleep in my own bed again.

That's so cool! That's something I'd just love to do in real life - hang out with you in a park somewhere. Leigh was saying the other day how we ought to have a mash-slash mass-meetup. I hope it's possible. And I hope you come to England!

And I hope you come to England!

I see what you're doing. You're trying to lure her away from us. :P But, seriously (or possibly quite unseriously, insofar as this doesn't quite fall into the realm of serious possibility), I hope such a meeting could happen, too.

And don't kill me! I haven't even assigned myself my pairings yet -- they might be worse, and then you'll have to pity me.

I'm luring her away from you?! I think a certain person (http://dougs.livejournal.com) has already done that!

I woudn't kill you. Miight think about it, but never beyond that. Besides, you are truly evil for leaving me in suspense - what on earth's inducing you to slaughter me first?!

I guarantee you that yours are nowhere near as hard as mine. :-D

(And the sad thing is, one of these crazy pairings is the answer to the universe!)

Hee. I dunno if we're allowed to share what our pairings are; are we?

I mean I picked the number 42. (Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?) I got three crazy-ass pairings, so one of those is the answer to the universe.
