Friends, Romans, countrymen... this is it.

In other words, I won't get online again for a few days, and no smooth 'n' slick broadband for at least a fortnight, as I will be in the land of people who do not know what a fortnight is.

I have sort of packed. Sort of, but it'll have to do. I've emptied out my schoolbag and refilled it with all my most treasured possessions (the ones I want to take with me, in any case) and am now using it as a carry-on bag. It's a little disconcerting when you discover your most treasured possessions are a red ringbinder, an A4 pad, a silver fountain pen and a small mp3 player, but what the hell. They'll do.

However, I am leaving on a somewhat sour note - in a sublimely fuck-shit-arse moment, I noticed that my paid account on LJ will run out while I'm over there, and not after I get back as I thought originally. Gah. Can't do anything about it,though - I'm doomed to free user status and loss of all my pretty icons. However, I also want to take this moment to hug flickgc, who gave me this paid account in the first place, about ten months ago. I didn't even know if I'd still be using LJ when it ran out - well, I have been, and here I am.

But not for long. Time for bed, I think. See y'all soon, I'm gonna miss you, today was just wonderful so thank you shipperkitten for planning it, and thank you all for the feedback on the glitter!fic, and why do I get the feeling I'm giving an Oscar acceptance speech?

Have a wonderful trip! I will miss you, although for all intents and purposes you will be closer to me than you usually are. At least I think so. This is a big continent.

Your most treasured possessions bear a striking ressemblance to mine, if you replace "red ringbinder" with "black hardback notebook," "silver fountain pen" with "blue plastic fountain pen" (I lose about 3 a year, on average), and "mp3 player" with "discman." For some unexplainable reason, this makes me giggle.

Also, your "fortnight" line made me grin.
