Oww. Oww-ow--ow-owww!

Never let me go this long without putting my earrings in again. Oww!

Piercing holes through your own flesh - delightful.

How recently were yours done and by what method? I can leave my original set of earlobe piercings entirely jewelry-less for ages without them trying to close.

Pedar could confirm that by stuffing a dull earring through your ear rather than having it properly done (WHICH IS NOT WITH A GUN, pardon my scream), you're not *piercing* holes in yourself, but (relatively) slowly *ripping.*

Seriously consider having it redone with a single-use hypodermic or piercing needle (they have the same kind of tip), then healing with titanium or niobium earrings, which are biologically inert.

There are two sets of holes in my ears, and the first ones were done six years ago and the second ones were done two years ago. It's my own fault, really - I know I shouldn't leave them out too long, it's just the way my ears are. They close up frighteningly easily. I've actually had my ears pierced five times (each time with a gun!) but the first three times, they closed up within a few months. I still have the remnants of the old holes in my earlobes, which complicate the issue.

You are so absolutely right about Pedar's opinion. Unfortunately he gave up trying to stop my female relatives getting my ears pierced when I was younger, and I'm now at the point where I will be heartbroken if the holes close up just because of all the effort it took to get this far.

I know I've probably disgusted you with all of this, but can I say I now have biologically inert surgical steel earrings in, which is a definite Good Thing. And they don't hurt. Much.
