Fuck, fuck, fuck.

Whoever hacked me - I am so sick of it. I don't know why I seem to be associated with such insecure people with omg-lol-I-can-hack-people-I-rock mentalities, but it's not something I'm proud of. I have a goddamn public journal. It's public for a reason. I have nothing to hide. As for my email account - you wanna break in there? You won't find anything except LJ comments, feedback emails, and betas, both that I've done and asked other people to do. You might find the occasional personal email. Well, it was sent to me for a reason. For me to read it, and me alone.

And the thing that makes me really angry? It's not clever, this kind of hacking. If I wanted, I could try it myself. But just because you can, why does that mean you should? My email account and particularly my journal are my property. Intellectual property, maybe, but my property nonetheless. Hacking them is exactly the same, ethically, as theft. And I'm pissed off now. I'm changing my email address completely.

And yes, one more thing - I've checked through my journal and inbox, and nothing seems to be altered except the passwords. I've checked my own journal, of course, but I can't check through everyone else's journals, so if anyone's got a bizarre comment (or any kind of comment) from me (between 10pm and 11am BST) please let me know.

Seeing as there's been no alterations made, the only thing I could think of was that I'd been hacked so someone could see friends-only entries made by someone whose friends list I'm on. That's a long shot, though, because there aren't that many people on my friends list who have friends-only journals.

Gah. I hate this. I'm never angry, just aggravated. At this point, I'm completely and utterly pissed off.

That is so crap! I am sorry - I don't see what the point of that sort of thing is, either...

Just thought I'd reiterate my dad's tips on passwords, you probably don't need them but hey, it's the only advice against this sort of thing I can give;

Don't use actual words if you can avoid it, and if you must, make it something very personal to you that only you and maybe one or two other people if even them can guess.

Also, stick random numbers in your password as well.

Finally, jumble it about a bit, jot it down somewhere safe, and use that instead.

Though having said all that, I know you've probably done it all already, 'cause you're not the sort of retard who'd make their password 'password'. Mostly 'cause you're not any form of retard at all.

*huggles* And I'm all with you on the hacking front being thievery. In China someone's in danger of getting a death sentence for virus-making, and my dad explained to me why - viruses take up enough man-hours to delete a few life-times worth of work if all the man-hours taken up around the world by your virus get added up. So strictly speaking, you've made a few life's worth of work obsolete.

Creepy, ne?
