The Matrix Reloaded
May. 23rd, 2003 08:33 pmAt about three o'clock, I thought I'd ring Becca and just double-check about our plans. I was sitting in front of the computer, signed in to everything, it was going to be a two-minute conversation, I was going to do some revision...
At five to four, I noticed the time, shrieked, "Shit!", slammed down the phone and ran. I caught the next train, but was still late - thankfully, Karen gave us a lift and we met
_detroit at the cinema. While we were going in, and buying popcorn (and Revels in my case) it suddenly occurred to me we hadn't done this in ages. Enid and Hannah couldn't come, and it's been years since it was me, Becca and Emma doing anything. We went into the cinema, chatted through the trailers, and I really enjoyed myself. Like Hannah says, it's not what you do, it's who you do it with, and I really agree with her.
The film, the Matrix Reloaded, was a surprise in how different it was from the first one. I think I liked the first one better. This one and its inpenetrable plot and moments of utter weirdness, didn't sweep me away with anything like the momentum of the first. But still, it was worth going to see for its vision and scale and ubercool special effects. And Neo's cape - whoever put Keanu Reeves in a cape deserves a medal. That cape stole the show. No-one else agreed with me about that. But I think everyone, male and female, is in love with Trinity for her effortless cool. She rocks, for want of a better word.
Got home about seven thirty, watched M*A*S*H, ate crisps, blah, blah, angelcakes. And am now a member of
badficsupport. Will have to post in it fairly soon. That's it.
