Holy cow. Twenty-one new emails, after getting rid of the penis enlargement ones?!
I love my friends....
So yes, London. There are are a few things I don't like about London, namely the fact the green man doesn't flash - red man, don't cross, green man, cross, green man flashing, finish crossing if you've started but don't start if you haven't, ne? But here the green man doesn't flash. Anyway. I also don't like the slight claustrophobia induced by the thought I am in the middle of about a hundred square kilometres of urban sprawl.
And now I've dealt with everything I don't like, now for the stuff I do like. I think that most of all I like the sense of the place being exactly the same, but different. If I walked out of here and went 225 miles in a straight line, I'd hit Formby Point, so I'm not that far from home. But still... the place is different. It's the capital cty and stuff happens here. I like so many things - I like the amount of people, I like the fact you can buy strawberries on the street, I like the Underground - yes, I do, I really like the Underground. I must be the only person on earth who likes it, but I really do - I like the ice-cream, I like just about everything.
As you can probably tell, I don't have the time to tell y'all what I've actually done since Friday. Suffice it to say I have missed everyone, and please comment and tell me if there's something vitally important that I've missed - I'm skimming my friends entries at the moment - and one more thing: my phone's not working. It won't let me call people. If you want me, text, email, or yell "Iona!" really loud.
Going home tonight. Right now, however, am off on a walk somewhere - my parents are at the House of Commons, and I'm free as a bird.

on 2003-04-30 11:11 am (UTC)I've never been in the London Underground, but I always had a thing for the Paris metros, as a kid. So many people to watch.
