The character of Aziraphale
Apr. 24th, 2003 08:59 pmTrying to write a whole new type of fanfic is always nice. And the whole Crowley/Aziraphale Good Omens thing is especially nice. But it's different to any other type of fic I've ever written, because it's a fandom associated with a book and nothing else. Unlike other fandoms, I have never seen the characters or heard their voices. Therefore, slight problem. Not that Crowley hasn't come to life inside my head. He has. It's Aziraphale who hasn't.
The problem boils down to the fact there's no canon physical description of him. All I know about him is the fact he gives the impression of being "intelligent, English, and gayer than a treeful of monkeys on nitrous oxide."
In addition to that, he has perfectly manicured hands. And he's an angel. And that's all I know.
What do you picture in your mind when faced with such a character? I ask everyone, not just the people who know what I'm talking about. How do you picture Aziraphale?
Thank you, that's all. I just got a coherent review and am therefore somewhat pleased with the world.
