cast some light and it'll be all right
May. 1st, 2006 11:33 pmSky's going. In two weeks he'll be in Russia; in three he'll be in China; in four we don't know and neither does he. Through the year we'll trace his route, across Europe and Asia and North America and back, in map-pins and letters and postcards, messages and thoughts. I'm taking him for coffee tomorrow, to say goodbye. I'd say he's changed a lot since I was doing Logic with him and bitching about him continuously, eight months ago, but that's not true. He's aggravating and obnoxious and he never shuts up. He argues every point into the ground, he never listens to what anyone has to say, he fixates on irrelevancies, he's melodramatic and silly, he's entirely at the mercy of each passing whim, he's funny and he's bright, he's got a mind like a sharp knife, he's endlesssly generous, he's a shameless, shameless thesping hack, he's a PPEist and a tute partner and a rival and a friend. He's going to have a great time out there in the big wide world, knowing him he's going to make friends everywhere he goes, and if everything really has got this bad, this awful, then it's best he goes now while he still can, comes back when he and everything else are better.
But I'm going to miss him, I'm going to miss him so much.
But I'm going to miss him, I'm going to miss him so much.
