So, one day after I started entertaining fears that I would end up dying alone and be eaten by Alsatians, there comes the break-up. It was the cleanest, most painless and comfortable break-up I have ever had the privilege of taking part in, and the sensible thing to do. We're both going to university so soon, and long distance does not work. Still. She'll always be my best friend, forever. "Don't we sound fifteen years old and American?" she said at that point. I completely agreed, but the sentiment stands. Best friends forever. I think the idea is that neither of us would want to hold the other one back, and if both still single we'll marry each other when we're forty-five.
And it didn't really put a dampener on the day, which was a great deal of fun. We were shopping. I didn't end up buying all that much, but I've got myself an academic diary which I sorely needed, and a pretty purple t-shirt with silver bits. I should have bought shoes and a black skirt, but I still have a withdrawal limit that I need to get rid of. I have an appointment next week to shout at the bank to this effect. Hannah bought a very, very heavy and expensive textbook from Blackwell's, while I peered at the Philosophy books and worried at what I'd got myself into. The diary I eventually bought is bright pink and has a pen included, which looks pink but writes in black. Misrepresentation, dammit.
I have a couple of girl!Doctor snippets to post later tonight, and my Minor Characters fic to finish, and Photoshop to shout at because it will not install onto Loki.
I'm glad we went out today.
