Making tea
Aug. 10th, 2004 03:01 pmUrgh. It's been raining now for three solid days, some drizzle, some steady downpour and some torrential, ankle-deep flooding. The occasional lightning means the internet has gone again, but strangely enough I don't really mind. I had access for about five minutes last night - long enough to post my
remus_remix fic, which is good as it keeps me from being poked by a pointy stick or whatever the penalty was.
I'm keeping my windows open at home because it's so quiet. The kids are gone, and I can sit in bed and hear the rain. Which is good, because I probably would have killed someone at some point, but I do miss the noise they made. They left early on Sunday morning, and I did go to the airport but can barely remember it, because I was sleep-deprived at the time. They reached safely if with some reluctance. I'm glad they enjoyed themselves.
And I am now embroiled in more work experience, much less fun work experience this time. In the Spinal Injuries Unit in Southport, to be precise, and it's so boring I can't tell you. There's never anything to do except make tea.
I'm bored.
