Oh... well. It's hard to explain what's going on, but I will try.
Firstly, I left all my windows open last night, and as I have no curtains, I was awoken at about nine am by such a wonderful sound - thunder. The thunder, the rain, the lightning, the blowing trees - is there anyone who doesn't love storms? I didn't get up properly, but I was dimly conscious of grey light in my room, fresh breezes and the smell of the sea, and this is all while I was still lying in bed. I hovered between awake and asleep for a while, just enjoying the storm, until I fell asleep properly again and slept till twelve. Getting online, I've suddenly realised I had a heads up. That's what I love about LJ. You always know what's going on!
By lunchtime, when I finally got out of bed, it had blown itself out. But it's stayed cool and overcast and pleasant ever since, and I approve. However, it seems storms are only around in the north. At Heathrow Airport, the temperature reached thirty-eight degrees, and broke the record - the first time ever it's been over 100F in Britain.
What next? Yes... I went online, and I would like to state for the record that I love fandom. I really, really do. First of all, the M*A*S*H slash archive is finally up and running! And as well as that, we're having M*A*S*H awards, run by
tobiascharity - yes, this is a blatant plug. All the relevant information is on the list, and I am apparently the list liasion, so I'm plugging it mercilessly.
As well as that,
gamesiplay rocks. She really does, having produced the quickest and most thorough beta I've ever come across. Colleen's birthday fic will be up tomorrow, methinks, once I've run through it properly and given it a title. I'm crap with titles, although not as crap as
shipperkitten, I will admit. And yes - fandom is a wonderful thing.
Real life is not so wonderful. The day so far wasn't so bad - my mother wanted to go to the gym, and dragged me with her, and while I had my doubts, I went with her just to shut her up. It wasn't as awful as I'd expected, but equally it wasn't very interesting, so I won't comment. However, she did drag me there for another reason, and that was so I'd be there to moan at. Dadi and Pedar are driving her mad. I let her moan, because there isn't really anyone else for her to moan at, and to be honest I do see what she's getting at. More on that later, because when we got back, we found that Dadi's brother has died. I've only met him the once, and I only vaguely remember it, and I get the feeling even my parents didn't know him very well. It's Dadi who is affected the most. So that's not so good.
And that really is everything.
