raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (pretty toys...)
My mother, Becca, and I went to the cinema tonight. Yes, I finally managed to ring up the cinema by way of Southport Tourist Information, and they actually knew what film/times I was talking about. I was very impressed.

Ditto the film. Two Weeks' Notice - I was expecting a mediocre chick flick, made bearable by the fact it had Hugh Grant in it, who can make anything gently hilarious. But I was wrong. It was a chick flick - but a sharp, nicely done one. The audience were constantly laughing out loud, but you never saw the film making a self-conscious attempt to be funny. It was all very natural and the two leads played their parts well.

Oddly enough, the funniest line in the film is the last one. It's Hugh Grant saying, "You know you can walk from one side of the apartment to the other in six seconds?! Look!" - and he disappears offscreen taking huge steps.
Guess you had to be there.

After that, we ended up going for pizza. It wasn't planned, but it was fun. Becca agreed with my mother about the stupidity of IELTS - no, it did not go well. She's fed up, I think. Enough is enough.
But yes, she seemed to enjoy the night with me and Becca. We enjoyed ourselves without actually doing very much, which makes me happy. I was wearing those army green pants with dangly bits, which made my mother wring her hands in horror, but they proved a talking point.

We even met Sophie at the cinema with her parents, and also Alej Hargreaves. Sophie said hi, Alej ignored us - all's well with the world, then.

After reaching home, I started thinking about the Flagg fic again. It is now haunting my dreams, I swear it.

{Argle!}

raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (fallen embers)
It is one fifteen am. I don't have school tomorrow, but I do have it on Monday, and a screwed up day/night cycle never helps.

Raven: *sighs*
Raven: whumping is all very well, but even *I* can't do this!
ShippyKitten: what?
Raven: rape.
Raven: *sighs again*
Raven: eight pages in, and I'm scaring myself!
ShippyKitten: EEK!

Exactly. Eeek. I'm going to bed now.
raven: [hello my name is] and a silhouette image of a raven (sleep...)
"Nothing I do is good enough for you... crucify myself...
Chains... crucify myself..."

I really should stop listening to this song.

In other news... well, got out of bed at half eleven, planned to finally find my sixth form application form and fill it out. I did find it, I did fill it in, but...

...my mother refuses to sign. She says she doesn't want to sign something that is so obviously a mistake.

When Pedar gets back from London tonight, I'll ask him to sign. But I don't like this. What an auspicious beginning, to be sure.

I should be doing English Lit now, but I can't find To Kill a Mockingbird... or Pride and Prejudice, for that matter.

Have done (most of) maths paper. Ditto Classics, though I've lost my Aeneid essay, which is rather galling when I actually sat down and did it, but I have also done Physics, so very little work left.

Now what?
