I have spent the morning reading the longest fanfic ever.
Well, not really, but as I stick to short stuff with only one notable exception, this was a departure for me.
And I wondered why it took me two hours to read it. The answer was, it was more than 70,000 words.
And I thought I was reading slowly...
And while I was trying to give my opinion of it,
purplerainbow started me thinking about what a wonderful word "catharsis" is. Some books are like that - cathartic, that is - as is some truly wonderful fanfic. I also found that it's impossible to explain what catharsis means. It seems to me you have to feel it before you know what it is.
And it's a nice feeling. Like walking through a rainstorm, to come out smelling fresh on the other side.
Well, I have kept Hannah company while she's been making icons, I have been avoiding revision, I have read 70,000 words in 2 hours and feel all the better for it.
I think I shall go and revise now.
