I have this sudden urge to write Stargate fic again. Why can't I throw off the fandom, why!?
If Pedar wasn't safely ensconced downstairs watching the Oxford and Cambridge regatta, I would have dug out Meridian and watched that. Oddly enough, I don't have TBFTGOG on tape anywhere, or I might have watched that too. It's my favourite Stargate episode of all time.
Ah... I can still type "TBFTGOG" without looking at the keyboard. Can still type "There but for the grace of God" too. That's one thing Stargate does very well - episode titles. Some of them are poetry, some are references to Shakespeare, some are references to mythology, others have a continuing theme, some are just pretty. And one of them is very, very funny. There would be two, only "Teal'c interrupted" was renamed as "48 hours." Good episode, just that name...
Although, that episode is fucking fabulous. The moment with the exploded DHD - "Well, it never did that in any of the simulations," - plus the first appearance of Lemon-Chicken-Guy, whom I adored. He was such a bitch.
In fact, it was a good show all the way through. Angst, more angst, funny bits, pretty!whumpable!Daniel, yet more angst (Need! Legacy!) and some of the most killingly well timed lines ever. "Woof" and "Bad day" and "Do your thing, glow me," come to mind. Come to think of it, I also loved The Fifth Race. I've seen it 39275945 times, but I still howl with laughter at the words, "There is nothing the cruvus with me!"
And it's followed by such a slashy few moments:
"You just said, there's nothing the cruvus with you."
"What? No, I didn't!"
"Yes, you did."
"No, I didn't!"
"Did."
"Didn't."
"Did."
Miaow. So many slashy moments. Like in Serpent's Lair, as well. And Need - miaow, again. I think it was
geekgirlofdoom who posted a link to a screencap of the storeroom scene. I love it, but I don't dare watch the episode again because it scares me. I've seen it twice and been very very scared each time, even though the second time, I knew what was going to happen. There's a plot bunny - what if Daniel had killed Jack? It could've happened. Of course, it didn't, and gave rise to the most blatant slash ever, but it could have happened.
I'm not writing that. No, I'm not. Nonononono.
But if I did...
I'm not going to.
But if I did... it would be just a moment in time. A vignette.
But I won't do it.

I want some good old darkfic. Stargate fic is too shippy atm, and pisses me off.
I'm going to nag you until you write it. You do darkfic very well, you know that? (flattery will get me everywhere)
Don't make me go all Father Ted on you! :P
"Go on. Go on! Go on go on go on go on go on..."
