This is mainly intended to keep [livejournal.com profile] cucharita amused, but I don't have a lot to say for myself. Becca's not here, neither is [livejournal.com profile] cucharita, neither is [livejournal.com profile] _detroit (I think) so I am going to be a lone wolf (or raven, natch) for the day. I just had an English lesson, which was mainly odd because all the English teachers are AWOL and they decided to split up all the groups and move 'em round a bit, just for the added confusion that would cause. The room I was in was below the room I'm normally in, and the sun shone in as usual, which made me inexplicably happy. The radiators in that section of the school are all stuck on because of a broken thermostat, so the sun was going the right way to give me heatstroke, but I'm out of there now and as I said, on my ownsome 'cause no-one's here. I should have skived today, I really should. I wish I had.

There's Drama later, and I may skive that. I don't feel like going, but then if I don't, what do I do? I couldn't hang round with Yusra and Saria, as they won't be around, and besides they're both depressing me at the moment, Yusra particularly. She's such a wonderful artist - a couple of years ago, I asked her what she wanted to be when she was older and she said she'd like to try interior design, maybe do graphical art the way [livejournal.com profile] cucharita does, and I seem to remember laughing and saying it was the perfect career for her. I had my doubts when it came to choosing A-levels. I was right. She now wants to become a doctor. Um, yuk.

Skive is such a fantastic word. I am terrifically tempted to add it to my own vocabulary.

She'll get over the doctor thing (umm... maybe?). Most people seem to chill out once all of the highschool academic stuff is over wtih.

You don't use "skive?" Oh, how linguistically deprived you must be!

As for the doctor thing... I can but wait and see. It may be too late for me, I don't know.

We say jig or skip or cut. "Jig" is actually one that, come to think of it, is used more in CanFrench. "J'ai jigué la classe, hier," and so on. In my case, it's usually a matter of just sleeping through my classes.

Why is it too late for you for the doctor thing? I can't say that I really understand the British school system entirely...

It's nothing to do with the school system, malhereusement. It's everything to do with my mother. She wants me to be a doctor, for a lot of reasons that I will not go into now, and I'm close to giving up. For more details, see the rest of my journal.
Huh. Seriously. This is just one of those perpetual thorns in my side that surfaces occasionally. Ignore me.
