Shimmering issue

Yet another fight with my mother, but somehow or other we sorted it out. My future career is the Shimmering Issue - never looked at directly, but hugely irritating to have lurking behind every conversation. Our latest disagreement was about my sweartbands - "What point are you trying to make?" - and the party tonight - "You're not going."
"Why?"
"Because."
We actually sorted it out, though. She even agreed about the party, but even so I may not go. If cucharita doesn't go I can't go, and as she doesn't seem to be I don't seem to be. Anyway. Am so tired, I don't think I would enjoy it much, anyway. The only problem is Becca has said she can't go out tomorrow, because she has to do her entire French syllabus, which leaves me a little aimless. Not entirely sure what I'm going to do with myself.
Will have to ring/text Jane, avoid my mother, and also avoid the cosmic irony of its being Mother's Day this weekend. Becca's mum apparently asked for easter eggs. Odd. My mother asked me this morning (after we sorted it all out, of course) how to get to Google.
"Google dot com," I said.
"Doesn't work," she said.
"www dot google dot com," I said.
"Doesn't work."
"H-T-T-P colon forward slash forward slash W-W-W dot google dot com," I tried.
Turns out she's been going to goggle.com. Oops.
