ka_crow has decided to only speak French until the war is over. I find myself hoping she stays with it, because I'm actually really enjoying it. Not understanding spoken French is one thing. But when I have written French to take my time over on my friends page, I actually feel like I know something. I'm not saying I understand perfectly, but I haven't had to use BabelFish. Commenting is more difficult.

I almost wish I could take French for A-level. I mean, I do enjoy it. I really do. Obviously my lessons, spent in humble servitude at the feet of AQA, are less than scintilllating, but when it comes to just understanding another language, I enjoy it, and I really don't want to forget it after my GCSEs are over.

And another thing... I have the word "Zanzibar!" in my head. Becca lent me the Tenacious D album, and it's fucking hilarious. Classic example is track 7, Fuck Her Gently. Pretty guitar intro, then.... "You don't always have to fuck her hard, in fact sometimes that's not right."
The weird thing about it is if you changed the lyrics, it would become a pretty rock ballad. It's only the ruthlessly pornographic lyrics, with occasional moments of poignance - "I'll do it for you" - that make it so bizarre.

Must go ring purplerainbow now. And drink coffee. It's getting cold.

But a brilliant rock album. I think their tongue and cheek point is that even while they're being complete twats, they rock better and bigger than many others. And they *so* do.

'Wonderboy' and 'Tribute' are the best tracks for me.

Oh, I agree. That was the one thing that I really liked - they're so committed to making arses of themselves that it's such a nice surprise how good they are!
