I did the talk. I did it with no reference to gay porn. And people listened, and didn't throw popcorn, and some people even asked questions. Even Mrs Enstone - huh. She claimed never to have heard of it. Fanfiction, that is. Huh, again. I don't think it was too bad, anyhow. Some people even giggled at my sample disclaimer.
The concert wasn't cancelled, thank gods and fates for that. It's happening, and we're going.
purplerainbow,
osiris13,
snowdrop24 - one pm, trains are running again, ring the gate-bell and I'll let you in. And bring me muffins! Mine went horribly wrong!
I have to get up early tomorrow, to take Pedar to the airport. He's going to Indianapolis first, then Savannah, Georgia. He'll be gone a week. Ugh. He always leaves the country at crucial moments.
So... Something Corporate, live, tomorrow! The only problem is the getting-there... my mother's a paranoid driver, and I've got everyone printing maps off Multimap like their lives depend on it. A general plea - does anyone on my friends list live in or around Birmingham? Or have you been there recently? If so, please lemme know. I need all the help I can get.
I'm going to miss Pedar a lot over the next week, I think. Who the hell do I talk to?
I hope my mother doesn't freak out tomorrow. I really, really do.
I also hope I find my Nirvana hoodie. Either I've lost it, or my mother's hidden it. And it doesn't fit in the cutlery drawer.
And I got feedback today! Whoo-hoo!

on 2003-03-07 01:18 pm (UTC)I hope it was good feedback. It deserves to be. Well done Raven.
In other news, from reading the challenge to posting my fic in under five minutes, for the first time ever! Well done Douglas. Not as good as the last poem, but that one took an hour.

Have a great time at the concert, and I hope your mother stays calm. :)

on 2003-03-07 04:27 pm (UTC)I've been a "closet" fanfic writer for years, y'know. It was oddly liberating, today was... kinda this-is-me-deal-with-it. If that makes sense.

on 2003-03-07 05:15 pm (UTC)It makes a lot of sense. As I said, I wouldn't be able to do that at this point in my life, but someday I hope to.
