Sunday morning, yellow sky

I haven't been online all day, courtesy of odd circumstances.
Anyhow... I finally went for it this morning and handed in my options form. It was a crumpled mess (Becca's was pristine) but it had the required signatures, four subject teachers', one reserve's, and Pedar's.
This morning I added my own signature. I am now offically doing combined English, Politics, Chemistry and Physics. It is a frightening thought, scary because I don't feel ready/old enough for this, nonono.
It might be because of this that I kinda hovered around the desk for a while before giving up my form. I know nothing is set in stone, but it feels like it.
It's still very cold. When it reaches this point, late February, I think you get the feeling winter will last forever. A few days ago, at the Valentine's ball, they dropped one of the shipments of ice cubes, and as they couldn't use them, they threw them onto the grass outside. Almost a week later, they're still there, still in ice-cube form, not even dripping, just lying on the grass in the freezing cold.
But while it's cold, it's still bright, sparkling bright, and sitting in the lab this afternoon, the sun was shining straight in, and through the glass it was hot. It made the room smell of summer, just for a moment, and I got an image in my mind of summer, properly hot summer, like we had last year, and books and notes and files and textbooks were overflowing and spilling out onto the floor.
Sometimes it seems like June 17th, 2003, can't come soon enough.
There's something else about today... yes, another general knowledge thing. It's nothing like the last one, as this one is online. The team have already got through to the second round, but have decided that Sarah Hillman is holding them back, so I'm being swapped in. Caroline and Helena wanted to do a secret ballot (what?) but Sarah doesn't want to be in it anyway. Everyone's happy.
I have got to re-write my comparative English essay for tomorrow. This is not good...
